What We Heard
In Matthew 28:16-20, we heard Brad remind us that the resurrection proves Jesus really is who he claimed to be, and that gives weight to his final command. Brad pointed out that even the disciples worshiped and yet still doubted, which helps us bring our own weakness honestly to Jesus, but not stay there. He showed us that the heart of this passage is not building a program but making disciples: helping people follow Jesus together by going into the world, bringing them into the family of God through baptism, and teaching them to walk in Jesus’ ways. And Brad pressed on us that this mission is hard because we resist Jesus’ authority and question his power, yet we were comforted to remember that Emmanuel still means God with us, and Jesus promises to be with us to the end of the age.
